Born on May 29, 1969 in Ruston, Louisiana, Toby Borland (Toby Shawn Borland) played for the Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, Anaheim Angels and Florida Marlins over the course of his 9 year career. Borland broke into the bigs on May 27, 1994 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 3.77 ERA in 74 innings pitched in 1995, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Toby Borland's best season was 1996, when he posted a 4.07 ERA and struck out 76 batters.
