Toby Atwell (Maurice Dailey Atwell) was born on March 8, 1924 in Leesburg, Virginia. He made his Major League debut on April 15, 1952 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1952, his rookie year, he hit .290 with 2 home runs and 31 RBI. Atwell played for the Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates and Milwaukee Braves over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that Toby Atwell's best season was 1952, when he hit for a .290 average.
