Timlin in, Romero out

Quick Red Sox roster note: veteran setup man Mike Timlin was activated from the disabled list yesterday after recovering from tendinitis in his right shoulder. To make room for him on the active roster, Boston designated lefty J.C. Romero for assignment. Romero has pitched fairly well, with a 1-0 record and a 3.15 ERA in 23 appearances, but he has labored through his innings lately and hasn't been used in meaningful situations all season. Most maddening to Red Sox fans has been his 11/15 K/BB ratio, which is a recipe for disaster. Before his injury, Timlin was 1-0 with an ERA over 6. I imagine Timlin will slot into the bullpen behind lefty Hideki Okajima and alongside Brendan Donnelly.

Not sure if being "Slot[ed]" in behind Okajima and alongside Donnelly is really much different than being on the DL...Timlin really is showing his age, Romero is a bum and Donnelly...well he sucks...Okajima is really the key to this pen (meaning papelbon is what he is, and you know what you're getting from him)...and all you get from papsmear anymore is one inning (because Francoma really won't use him for much more unless they're playing the yanks)...
