Similar to Beast Mode, in case you’re curious. He’s putting up video game stats. It’s not out of the question that he could go for 3000/1000/50 total TDs this year.
Think about that for a minute. Try and wrap your brain around those numbers. I can’t. As it stands now he’s at 2500 passing yards, 700 rushing yards, with 23 TDs through the air and 19 on the ground. He’s second in the nation in pass efficiency, and third in the nation in RUSHING touchdowns. What an odd combination. And evidently, one that can’t be stopped. Last week against Steve Spurrier and South Carolina he tossed for 300 yards and 2 TDs. Good game, right? Oh, and I forgot to mention his 120 yards 5 TDs on the ground. I think that’s the biggest difference, too. He’s doing this in what most would call America’s toughest conference. As a true sophmore.
It’s for those reasons that I think Tebow wins the Heisman this year. Normally I’d struggle to give it to a guy on a 3 loss team, but the fact of the matter is college football is so up and down this year that it’s not going to go to the best player on one of the top 3-4 teams, because those top 3-4 teams are so fluid. So congratulations Tim Tebow, you’ve lived up to the hype. You won a National Title in your freshman year, and probably a Heisman in your sophmore year.
No reason to think he couldn’t combine the feats next year, either.
Not a bad way to start a career.
