Tim Tebow To Win Heisman

14
Vote

by Dan Lewis

It's true -- and won't even be close. University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow will be named your 2007 Heisman Trophy Winner.

So says StiffArmTrophy.com, and website which scours the web and newspapers for disclosed ballots of actual voters, and then projects the results with tremendous results. From their site:

  1. We count actual votes. We count only the picks from people who claim to be actual voters. (The organization doesn't release a list of voters, so we can't verify.)
  2. We make two assumptions. 1) That the voter turnout in each region will be equal, and 2) that the undisclosed votes in each region will mirror the publicly disclosed votes,
  3. Based on those assumptions, we total up the votes in each region and then extrapolate the totals.

Over the past five years, they've correctly predicted every single Heisman winner, an astounding feat considering that Matt Leinart barely topped Adrian Peterson in 2004, and a year earlier, Oklahoma QB Jason White bested Larry Fitzgerald by a mere 2.9% of the vote.

Indeed, the prediction business is tough: Over the past five years, four of the five winners failed to receive a majority of the votes available -- in 2005, Reggie Bush won with 48%; in '03, Leinart took home the hardware with a mere 26%; White won in '02 with 33.5%; and in 2001, Carson Palmer won with just under 28%.

This year, StiffArmTrophy has Tebow winning the trophy -- with an estimated 73.8% of voters voting for Tebow. With Tebow's Heisman chances at 90.9% and climbing on Tradesports.com, it's very clear:

Tim Tebow will win the Heisman.

Since he has already won the Davey O' Brien Award(nation's top quarterback)and the Maxwell Award(nation's best all around player), I would have to agree.

No such thing as spoiling the ending when it's inevitable to begin with.

its not a website "saying so"...its actually some data research used as a predictor... just a collaboration of what people are saying they voted for...it makes sense

McFadden getting second two straight years is an impressive feat that no one will talk about. That's according to that website as well.

TEBOW won ... by large margin ... as he should have. He is one of best passing quarterbacks seen lately PLUS one of best runners around (more TDS that Hershal Walker and some other running backs who won Heisman). He's big, strong as hell and plays hurt (broken hand for half of the last game). He smart and loves football and was a great high school start and did a good job as 2nd string QB in freshman year (last year too). No other QB in history of college football has EVER .. yes EVER .. made over 20 TDS running + 20 TDs PASSING ... ever. He did it this year with 21 running and 29 Passing. He has the attributes of Namaths and Marino's arms, strong like Bradshaw (Pitts) and runs like Fran TArkenton but more longer runs right at them and hits line-backers and safeties hard (no slides)!!! Just a sophomore (and first ever to win Heisman as freshman/sophmore) this guy sets a new high bar for all future quarterbacks and will be an outstanding pro QB if not seriously injured. The most amazing thing is: The UF GATORS will have him ringing up the scoreboard from two more years! Gators were National Champions in 2006 and are likely to repeat it in 2008 and/or 2009 with him at QB!
