Born on September 5, 1960 in Pontiac, Michigan, Tim Birtsas (Timothy Dean Birtsas) played for the Oakland Athletics and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 5 year career. Birtsas broke into the bigs on May 3, 1985 with the Oakland Athletics, and put up a 4.01 ERA in 141.1 innings pitched in 1985, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Tim Birtsas's best season was 1985, when he posted a 4.01 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 94 batters.
