Tiki Barber to retire after the season

10
Vote

New York Giants Running Back Tiki Barber told a New York Times reporter that he plans to retire upon seasons end to pursue a full time TV career. Tiki Barber is the Giants all time leading rusher, and needs 680 yards to become the 19th player to rush for 10,000 career yards. Also, since 2002, Barber leads the league in yards from scrimmage, with only LT comming within 1300 yards of him.

Theres no way this he can retire now. Tiki has actually gotten better with age. He fumbles the ball less now than ever. He had 2 200 yrd games last season and over 2000 total yards. IF he leaves the game right now he would be leaving in the middle of his prime and thats a shame. Maybe Ronde can talk him out of it.

He is also on a team with a bright future that probably won't go all the way this season. Does he really want to be in TV so much that he would give up a chance to play for a team that could be in the Super Bowl? As long as he can still play well, why retire? The TV job will be there after unless he has a serious image problem over the next year or so.

He actually said he's leaning towards it. Not planning on it. Huge difference and major detail you missed.

Well, even if he does, it's not our business to care anyway.
