The Tigers were able to take advantage of 2 Astros errors for 3 runs in the 7th. Up until that point, the game overall was a great pitching duel between The Rocket Roger Clemens and The Gum Man Nate Robertson.

Clemens (0-2) allowed 3 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), struck out 3 and walked 2 in 6.1 innings. Robertson (8-3) allowed 6 hits, 0 runs, struck out 4 and walked 3 in 7.0 innings.

In the 7th, Craig Monroe doubled to deep left, Magglio Ordonez and Carlos Guillen scored. Monroe took third on Adam Everett's throwing error. 2 batters later, Brandon Inge was safe at 1st on Morgan Ensberg's fielding error, scoring Monroe.

Alex Gomez provided another spark in the 8th with his first HR of the year. Tigers win 4-0.

Elsewhere in the AL Central, The White Sox keep pace by winning thier 50th of the year.

In this one, the Sox had 15 hits, almost everyone in the lineup had at least 1 hit.

Jim Thome had 2 RBI's, Scott Podsednik and A.J. Pierzynski had an RBI.

White Sox beat the Pirates 4-2, Bobby Jenks earned his 23rd save.

Bobby Jenks is great; the hook on that ball...ouch! I think Thome is going to have a run with HR's and RBI's here the month of July. He's going to make some close racing with Pujols. As for Detroit, you might as well tack 3 wins onto the Tigers now as they get ready to head to PIT.

First of all, that was Adam Everett's throwing error. Carl Everett plays for the Mariners. Secondly, I notice you said nothing of the controversial ball three call by Bucknor in the 7th inning that led to Clemens' departure. That's two nights in a row.
