After an 0 and 4 start for the Hamilton Tiger Cats, the team fired head coach Greg Marshall on Monday. In the interm, former head coach and current Senior Director of Football Operations, Ron Lancaster will head the team.
"I was a little shocked but not completely off guard. I knew after the Montreal game (that) anything was possible, but I was still a little shocked, then disappointed in not getting the job done", said Marshall of the decision.
Marshall was 9-8-1 in his first season in 2004. But in the seasons since, he has lost 17 of 22 games. He compiled a 14-25-1 record in his three years with the Ticats.
Lancaster has 138 career victories and has won two Grey Cups. In 1993 he led the Edmonton Eskimos and in 1999 he led Hamilton. He is the fourth all-time winningest coach in the CFL.
