Three for the road...

And the offense hits on...

The Red Sox keep there 7.5 game lead in the AL East after a solid/shaky win today. The Red Sox have won 3 in a row and have done it when they need it the most. The Yankees have steamrolled the Devil Ray's and have kept within striking distance with a major thumping of the awful Tampa Bay baseball team 21-4.

The game was good because of one main point...they won. And in order for this team to do what we all hope they do win a World Series, is to continue to win. We now embark on a tough 4-game series in Cleveland and look to keep the momentum. Maybe the Sox actually need to get away from Fenway to get on a roll.

It is important to note that Manny Ramirez has turned into "Man-Ram" once again he has gone 15-for-39 with four homers and 13 RBIs since the break. And most importantly he has done this with David Ortiz not being "Big Papi". I feel as most of you probably do the world will get right once Ortiz has a little rest and recovery, he was as Man-Ram was starting to heat up even banged up.

I am looking forward to Jon Lester tomorrow but I caution all of the Red Sox Nation, don't expect the world from this man. For him to even get back to where he is, is an achievement unto itself. I am worried that we can do harm to him by putting to much pressure on him. For all things considered he is still a rookie and has much to prove. I think he can do well and I think he will be great but let's give him some patience.

The Red Sox are at a crossroad and are feeling a bit of pressure. But thankfully the offense is awakening and the pitching is strong. Over this next week we will learn a lot about this team and where there headed. There are some eerie parallels to 2004, were we seemed to have July troubles and questions on a good team. But then there was a spark, could this weekend have been that spark or maybe we will see it soon. I am sure we will find out and I think over the next month or so the true team of 2007 will show it's colors, and by all accounts it will be a hue of Red!

I was getting a little worried there with Papelbon up by three with the bases loaded in the ninth with none out. Once he got that strikeout on Thome thought, I knew it was over.
