Tom Long (Thomas Augustus Long) was born on June 1, 1890 in Coffeeville, Alabama. He made his Major League debut on September 11, 1911 for the Washington Senators. In 1915, his rookie year, he hit .294 with 2 home runs and 61 RBI. Long played for the Washington Senators and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 4 year career.

Most people believe that Tom Long's best season was 1915, when he hit for a .294 average and knocked in 61 runs.
