Things to be Thankful For II

First off, I hope every Armchair alum has a happy and healthy Thanksgiving. With all the craziness and endless controversy in sports, it's hard to find any silver lining. Yet if you search deep enough, there are plenty. With that said, let's proceed:
Kevin Everett-
If this isn't the feel-good story of the year, I don't know what the heck is. His injury in Week 1 had him near the brink of death and a sharp reminder to all of us couch-potatoes about the danger in foorball itself. Now he's out of the hospital and even out of rehab and is apparently pushing a shopping cart around at the supermarket. This is nothing short of a miracle and you can rest assured It's a Very Happy Thanksgiving for the Everett family.
New England Patriots-
Pick your jaw up from the ground. Yes, I'm thankful for the New England Patriots. I'm thankful for the fact that we may be witnessing the greatest football team in modern history. Have you ever seen a team dominate both sides of the ball with such ease and superiority? Tom Brady may be putting in himself in line to be the greatest QB....ever. It feels as if he's playing Madden 08 with the level on easy each and every week. I can't believe there's a controversy over Brady saying he wants to blow out every single team in the land. Shouldn't that on every player's mind? Is this BREAKING NEWS?!?!? Moreover, I'm thankful for Randy Moss shutting his critics up and reminding the NFL that he's still around each and every single week. Isn't it fitting that Moss would be on two of the greatest scoring NFL teams of all time: The 98 Vikings and potentially the current Patriots. I think the Pats will go undefeated and although that there are some that think this will suck for football. I think the opposite. If this gets other teams to raise their standards in the front office, in the coaching staff and really gets them to emphasize chemistry when picking out their roster, than the league will be better for it in the long run.
Terrell Owens-
Isn't it wonderful that T.O finally gets it? His play is doing all of the talking this season and he's thriving in the Cowboys system. His career is officially on course towards Canton, Ohio once again.
Grant Hill-
A feel good story that after all of the injuries and setbacks that he's had to deal with, Grant Hill is thriving by playing meaningful minutes on a team like the Suns who have championship aspirations. For all that he's endured, this is great for him as well as the NBA.
Romeo Crennel-
In a year in which his job was in jeopardy, Romeo resisted the urges of the Cleveland public to put in Brady Quinn and stuck with Derek Anderson. The Browns are now 6-4 and if wasn't for them blowing that big lead against the Steelers, they'd be in first. They have a nucleus with a top-notch receiver in Braylon Edwards and a solid TE in Kellen Winslow Jr. In the tough AFC North, Romeo's team is standing up.
Wade Phillips-
Many say that Wade inherited a good team and while that may be so, there is no question that Wade is a better fit. Tony Romo represents the feel-good nature of Wade Phillips. I like the fact that he's not willing to hide his jolly nature when things are going well. It's infectious and it seems to be surrounding the Cowboys on all fronts. Let's give credit where credit is due. After all, Norv Turner inherited a better team and all he's done is incur the wrath of Ladanian Tomlinson.
Detroit Lions-
They may be a bit overrated with a subpar O-Line and NO Running game. But it's good that the Lions will play a meaningful Thanksgiving game for the first time in forever.
Adrian Peterson-
I'll only say this. Don't put him on the cover of Madden 09.
Brett Favre-
The ageless wonder continues to do the damn thing. All the calls from the naysayers and critics of Brett Favre have disappeared in a blink of an eye. Favre is the link betwen the great quarterbacks of yesterday and today. It's unreal what he continues to do after 17 years. The Packers, if they develop a consistent running game will become a pain in the Cowboys' rear.
Happy Turkey Day to All.
