There's No Crying in Baseball

Stop it seriously I am sick of the moaning and all the crying and bitching. Baseball is not dead, it’s not going anywhere and for all intents and purposes the game is the exact same today as it was yesterday and as it was 10 years ago. Barry Bonds did not ruin your precious little game.
All summer I have read the Barry Bonds bashing (that’s fine) however if I open up the Chair or turn on my television and see one more melodramatic story about how Bonds has tainted the game, and the with the record the sport will never be the same, I swear I will puke.
Base is not a pure sport. It never has been it never will be. Before Barry and steroids there was Pete Rose and gambling, before that there was Curt Flood taking the entire league to the Supreme Court, before that there were anti-trust cases, and before that the game was segregated. Baseball is an America’s pastime and much like America it has a dirty seedy underbelly, that we conveniently forget about when it suits our purposes.
Bottom line is, we all saw history last night, like it or hate it. There is no guarantee that you will ever see something of that magnitude happen again. So instead of crying about it, try to find some pleasure and some joy in what just happened.
The season will continue to go on, the playoffs will take place and we will crown a World Series Champion. So sit back and enjoy and stop with all the damn dramatics. Cycling, now there’s a sport that’s in danger of losing everything, not baseball.
