The oldest Video of the Day ever shown! (1930)

by Alex Holowczak

This comes from 1930. It shows Walter Lindrum at his peak. In this exhibition, he calls his shots throughout his 100 break.

He is a legendary English Billiards player. The rules are:

  • 2 points if your cueball hits your opponents cueball and the red
  • 2 points if you pot your cueball (in-off)
  • 3 points if you pot the red

I know that doesn't help much being in black and white, but I figured that it might make more sense to you!

Lindrum makes a 100 break in just 6 minutes. You have to admire the 1930s footage!

Lindrum was World Champion at the time. He was so good that he killed off his sport, because nobody felt they could beat him if they played him. It was a shame, because Lindrum was the best the game has ever seen.
