The new Pittsburgh Steelers

Being a life long Pittsburgh Steelers fan I have to say that I impressed yet a little confused with their play. I am really happy that they are playing well but they are throwing the ball more which is confusing to me. I guess that it is a good thing as long as they are winning.

Don't get me wrong I think they still have that pound it out offense and I think that they look good. Mike Tomlin has brought a good energy to the Pittsburgh Steelers, they are winning and looking like at least playoff team. Which is good after the disappointing year they had last year.

They played the Cleveland Browns hard last week and I was still a little stand offish about saying anything but after the Browns put it on the Cincinnati Bengals today I think that the Steeler defense is better than I expected them to be. They kept the Buffalo Bills to only three points, and they are showing me the things that I like to see. Pittsburgh has always had a good defense but I think that they are as good as they have been in quite a few years.

The offense is spreading the ball out and making great plays. Big Ben looks good; throwing throwing with confidence and moving in the pocket well, even running for a few yards.

The AFC North had better watch out the Steelers are back to the winning ways of old, but in a little different style. I know that it is only the secong week of the year but the Steelers are looking in mid season form to me.

The Steelers have looked solid to this point, but the Browns and the Bills are not exactly the strongest teams in the NFL

But you failed to mention the one glaring thing about this past game - those horrid unis. It was very taxing on the eyes.

Throw to Santonio Holmes more and Heath Miller. This comment has everything to do with how poorly my fantasy team did today.

They've beaten two teams that picked in the top 12 in the draft. They've proven nothing. I know they look good, but wait untill they beat a real team before you crown their asses

Pittsburgh looks good. Football Outsiders did some work (called Guts and Stomps I believe) that showed that the best way to determine if a team is good is by how well they stomp inferior opponents. Contrary to the idea that good teams gut out the close games, their research indicates that good teams tend to crush poor teams. That bodes well for the Steelers.
