The best receiving corps in the NFL.

by PSU ROCKS

I would have to say the best reciving core in the NFL would have to be the Cincinnati Bengals.

With Chad Johnson who arguable is the best WR right now in the NFL. And has the biggest mouth. With 1369 yards in 06 which is third in the Bengals history. But thats behind his own record of 1432 in 05 and also had 1355 in 03. Is tied for 3 in reciving TDs for the Bengals. Also is 2nd for amount of games in a row with one catch at least. Is currently at 76 and needs to get 93 to tie the lead. Also has the most 100 yard games in a career with 21 in Bengals history. And to top it off appered in 4 straight pro bowls.

Then T.J Houshmanzadeh who was 2nd on the team in receiving yards behind Chad Johnson with 1081 last year being his first 1000 yard season. He lead the team in 06 with 90 receptions and tied for touchdowns in the season with Chris Henry at 9. Was only the third Bengal to have 90 receptions in a season the other two are Chad Johnson and Carl Pickens. And made the pro bowl as third string. And did this all after missing the first 2 games of the season.

And Chris Henry who's entering his third year already showing his worth. He tied with Chris Henry to lead the team in receiving TDs at 9. He also had 3 plays of 50+ yards. 55 against Atlanta 71 against Baltimore and 66 against Pittsburgh. He also came close and had a 43 against the Browns. Also had two games with two TDs against the Steelers and Browns. And third on the team in catchs with 36. Doing all this even though he missed week 4,6, and 7.

And who is the QB who's throwing these passes well Heisman trophy winner and pro bowl MVP Carson Palmer who had a awesome year coming off a knee injury. Was first Bengal to pass for over 4000 yards with 4035. Passed for 324 for 520 last year a 62.3 completion passer rating With 28 TDs and 13 INTs. His career high of 440 yards was second in the league and leader in the AFC for the year. And had 153 consecutive completions without throwing a pick.

This is why I think they have the best Wide receiver core with one of the best QBs. And the reason why I didn't chose The patriots witch I'm sure a lot of you will wonder is because Donte Stallworth and Randy Moss have yet to play for Tom Brady and Moss still has to prove he is that player that tore up the league when he played for the Vickeys.

Ever heard of the Indianapolis Colts?

Marvin Harrison. Reggie Wayne. Dallas Clark. Anthony Gonzalez. Even Joseph Addai out of the backfield. They are loaded at every receiving position. They are the best receiving corps until some other team proves otherwise.

The Bengals don't have a solid tight end. TJ isn't what Wayne is. I adore Chad, but it's the Colts.

First off, Henry wont even be around for the first half of the season, so there goes a chunk of the big 3. Also he quite on the team on a jump ball situation during B'More.

The Colts have a stacked core that I'd take in front of the Bengals.

I also wouldnt sneeze at the Dallas Cowboys wideouts either.

T.O. is now an over the hill cancer on the decline. Just you watch, once the Cowboys lose their third game this season, the T.O. circus will hit full stride.

uh yeah...wilson will struggle to keep him in check... TOs like a bratty little kid...needs some discipline...TO, IMO would actually thrive under a coughlin-esque disciplinarian...not coughlin per se (because he's a moron) but someone like him...actually...here's one for you...Belichick

You know, I think the Detroit Lions may have the best receiving corp in the entire NFL today. Don't laugh, the Lions are loaded at WR. If Kitna can get the ball to them, watch out....

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned the Arizona Cardinals duo of Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald. They've got to be up there somewhere on the list.

I'd love to say that it's the Bengals, but I think that Henry being out for 8 games takes them out of it.(which could be more since George W. Goodell seems to think he can lengthen Bengal suspensions without giving any reasons)

I think what you have to look at is how the team's top 3-4 receivers fit into what they like to do. I think that eliminates the Patriots because A- we don't know what any of their WR's are going to do in their system and B-There's some serious injury concerns there with Stallworth and attitude stuff with Moss. and don't give me this Brady will keep him in line bubkis-Brady loves to spread the ball around to all his recceivers and Randy will start to pout when he isn't the focus. As for the Lions- I think CJ is gonna be a stud and I really wanted 6 NFL teams to be stupid during the draft- but let's see him pan out before we crown them. Which brings me to the Cardinals- great talent youth and depth. They're probably second for me, only because I'm not sold on Lienhart just yet.

Number one for me is gonna be the Colts We know there top 2 are close to if not the most consistently productive recievers in the leage, and I relly think Gonzales has the smarts, toughness and route running ability to become one of Manning's favorites. (and that's only a little bit of homerism pimping the former Buckeye...)

am i alone in thinking that Arizona's trio of Larry Fitzgerald, Aquan Boldin and Bryant Johnson, along with Edge out of the backfield may be the league's best?

Let's not overlook Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, Stephen Jackson, now Drew Bennett, formerly of the Titans, and Randy McMichael in St. Louis. With the numbers Bulger put up with Curtis and MacDonald as his #3 and 4 options, think about what he can do now.

Tough to pick a best receiving corps apparently. Like for the Colts, how much of it is the WRs and how much is Peyton?

I didn't mean to minus you on that, my b. A lot of it is Peyton, but Marvin is crazy good. He'd be a Hall of Famer anywhere he played as long as the QB situation was stable.

i would say the Eagles have good reciving core in the speed of brown and the power of hank baskett but not the best and the reason i mainly chose the Bengals is because TJ and Henry both missed a few games but still put up good numbers

o how i wish i too belived the eagles core deserved to be in this conversation, sigh. they are good but i really think its a toss up between INDY and CINCY. I agree with that w/ marvin, reggie, dallas and that guy from the ohio state university are great, but marvin is starting to age and im not sure if i think reggie can be that elite number one guy. in CINCY u have young studs. Ocho is goin no where. the only things u have to worry about in cincy are chad gettin suspended for partying like a rock star on the field or someone goin to jail. but while cincy is the future i'll take indy in the present
