The Worst Baseball Announcers Are...

After the Tim McCarver piece, I had to give some other announcers their due. These aren't ranked. I was going to do from good to bad, but I found more bad than good.
- Joe Morgan- It's not that I don't like him. I think he's ok. But he does that habit of stating the obvious from time to time to time...
- Rick Sutcliffe- yeah, his stock has dropped a litte recently.
- Chris Berman- Not a favorite of mine. The home run calls and nicknames annoy me. If you can overlook that and his ego, he's ok.
- Joe Buck- He's in the same boat as Berman. I find him pompous (see the Randy Moss Green Bay game), but he definately has a handicap in working with Capt. Obvious himself, Tim McCarver.
- Lou Pinella- Fire Dusy Baker already and hire this guy so the next time I see him on TV, he's throwing chairs or punching the wall when he lets the door fly open on his rage cage after another loss.
- Skip Carey- I've watched Braves games on TBS since I was 5 and it seems as I get older, this guy gets crazier. One of his favorite topics this season, the possible move of the Marlins to Vegas (it's not going to happen Skip). He's talked about several times. "If buy life insurance, you're gambling. You're gambling that you're going to die, they're gambling that you won't. You buy stocks? You're gambling. Move to team to Vegas and put a giant scoreboard with that looks like a slot machine." Skip justs wants to go to Vegas a couple times a season and play some slots. He's turning into his father, only without the "lovable wackiness." BUT he's still an entertaining listen.
- Steve Phillips- Heard him a few times. He's not a favorite. After he did that "simulated GM" piece on ESPN, he has to be really good for me to forget that.
- Jeff Brantley- UGH. The curly mullet enduces a headache that can only topped by....
The WORST: "I think if Norman Rockwell were alive the guy that he would paint more than anyone else would be David Eckstein."
"First year as a relief pitcher in the Angel chain, Woods made 97 out of 98 starts, did Woods, as a starter."
Tim McCarver- Words cannot explain my distain for you.
