On this luckiest of days the word of the day has to do with two well know college drop outs. Thats right this has to do with Greg Oden and Kevin Durant. The number one and number two draft picks in this past NBA draft started there professional careers by tripping over their shoes and making it seem like my four and a half foot tall little brother could defend them. Now I don't pay much attention to basketball but I'm pretty sure that making 29% of your shoots or fouling 10 times in a summer league game is not good. So in honor of the the men who two corporations have staked there financial welfare on the word of the is:
Scuffled-
To fight or struggle confusedly at close quarters.
To shuffle.
To have a set back.
Last one is mine but come on thats what the word means.
Now I understand that these performances probable do not show the future of these hopeful stars but it does show that these guys are mortal and kids (I'm 3 years younger then them is it O.K. to call them kids?) so this really probable doesn't mean anything, which I guess makes this article pointless. Crap! I promised a real article and I give pointless junk. I've got to think of something quick. Got it.
So the real people I am talking about are the my guys the Arizona Diamondbacks. Yes recently the D-Backs have scuffled losing 9 of there last 12 and have fallen in to 3 place in the tough NL west. In that time the offense has struggled the starters have had some of there worst outings and the bull pen has shown its chinks. So the D-Backs need to stop the scuffling quick before they are to far back to compete with the tough Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres.
And that was the Word of the Day for the Seventh of July, 2007 in all its cornieness.
