So, I started this sereis a while back, then had the reseeding, and then my spring break where I was without internet access for a week, and then I had to finnish up what I started. So, now I've gotten the first round done, and the rest should compe each week from now on. Here's how it played out. I'll show the brackets, and below it will be a brief summary of the action in each region with some commentary.
LA Coliseum Regional
The only thing that changes here is the major upset by the '82 Redskins over the ='92 Cowboys. I doubt this will change the elite eight at all because I think the '85 Bears are just that good in comparison to the rest of that half of the region. There is some talent in the bottom half of the bracket with the '92 Cowboys and the '00 Ravens that have enough talent to give them a run. The Bears showed their power with a 24-13 route over a good broncos team, proving why they were the top seed.
Dolphins Stadium Regional
It appears the '06 Colts are not that good, losing to the '05 Steelers by 14 points. Not exactly what some people would expect from them. In the rematch of Super Bowl XXXVI, the Pats win again 24-19. That game took a couple of simulations to get a result other than a tie or a blowout by either team. I tried to make the scores as realistic as possible, so I resimulated that game a couple of times to get it right. It'll be interesting to see how the second biggest underdog to win the Superbowl ('68 Jets are the biggest) do in the rest of the tournament. Looking at the brackets I realize that it is possible for the two to meet in the Finals. Wouldn't that be crazy?
Louisiana Superdome Regional
There was a missing score in this region. The '84 49ers beat the '92 Bills 45-13. The '06 Chargers advance past the '02 Bucs, which makes my NFL BCS Column right by determining the '06 Chargers were the best team of the season, being it that they are the only team from that year remaining. The '98 Vikings, my pick to win it all double up John Elway's first super bowl team, and in a rematch of Super Bowl III, the '68 Jets, as underdogs again.
Texas Stadium Regional
Another Rematch here, with Super Bowl XXXIII having the same champion, but it's a blowout by the patriots 24-7. There's not a lot that changes here, except for the '86 Giants being upset and the '70 Steelers being upset. It appears the '04 Steelers were good enough to beat the '88 49ers, as was expected. But the thing here was that I didn't expect them to win. I really thought that they were overrated, but we'll see how they do against one of the raider teams next round.
