The Seattle Mariners have a pattern going on

Anyone notice that the M's have set up a trend the last few months? They seem to play in streaks. They win 8 straight, then lose 4 straight, then win 6 straight, and then lose 7 straight. They've now won 3 straight games after beating the Oakland A's (who have been owned by the M's this year). The inconsistent play is killing many Mariner fans. I hope that if they make the playoffs, they won't have the same problem. Because stuff like that is dangerous in any sport.

Now there is one big question: Will the M's make the playoffs? If they do, will they do it by wild card berth or AL West crown? How far will they go?

They have the chance to win either the AL West or the AL Wild Card. And yes, I feel that they will pull off an "upset" and make the playoffs. (when I say upset, I mean that no one thought they'd make it before the season started)

They were seventh in the AL in runs scored last month, and 10th in runs allowed. Now, they're still seventh in runs (behind all of the playoff contenders: Yankees, Red Sox, Indians, Tigers, Angels; excluding the Rangers with the Arlington Ballpark helping them a lot), and eigth in runs allowed. They're slowly moving up in pitching, and I think it's gonna be a tight race in the end; sorta similar to the Indians and the Sox a few years ago, when the Red Sox won one more game then the Indians did. It could go either way, so we'll see.

Speaking as a Mariners fan, the losing streaks are always scary, simply because the team has been so bad the last 3 years that you feel like the season is going to go up in smoke, and then they get back off the mat. They've certainly picked the right time to be on the upswing with the Angels coming in this week.
