The NFL Top 10: Week 6

22
Vote

by SSreporters

It's that time of the week where I rank the 10 best NFL teams and MJD comes to rip my argument apart. Whether he is right or wrong is up to you.

1. New England Patriots. For the dirtbags who thought New England wasn't tested at all......they won by 21 over Dallas, enough said.

2. Indianapolis Colts. Off last week, but they'll have a big matchup against the Jaguars on Monday Night Football, before destroying Carolina.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers. Again, a bye week last time around, now can they beat the reeling Broncos at Denver? I think they can, watch out for another playoff push for Pittsburgh.

4. Green Bay Packers. That defensive play on the Santana Moss fumble pretty much showed that they are legit. They are 5-1, off this week, and now have a stronger grip on the wacky NFC North.

5. Dallas Cowboys. Tough loss to take, and it doesn't get any better with Adrian Peterson coming into town.

6. Jacksonville Jaguars. Is anyone else amazed at how there isn't a single team in the AFC South with a losing record? 37-17 last week, but if they can upset Indy, that will be a season defining moment in front of a national audience.

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Yeah, they probably would've lost if Vince Young wasn't hurt, but hey, they are 4-2, and it looks like that great defense of 2003 is coming back.

8. New York Giants. Yep, they are good. That offense is clicking, the defense is strong, and then they'll choke in the 2nd half of the season.

9. Baltimore Ravens. Tough pick, but their defense is solid, but that offense needs a ton of work if they can't get more than 1 TD against the Rams.

10. San Diego Chargers. LT is back, and so are the Chargers. They have outscored their opponents 69-17 in their last 2 games.

Go on, find something that you think is not correct.

Amazingly, your top 10 this week, looks an awful lot like my top 10 from last week. Only the Bucs and Giants weren't on my list last week although both were considered in my 10 spot. Gone from your list of last week are the Redskins, Cardinals and Seahawks. I'd say I pretty much nailed it last week.

You still have the Colts ahead of the Pats after the Dallas game?

As I said last week, as the returning champs, the Colts deserve the 1 spot until they lose, whether that be prior to the big game or if they lose to NE. There is no doubt this was NE's most impressive win this year.

I understand the defending champion thing, BUT the Patriots win differential is higher than the total points scored by 24 teams in the NFL. Stop and let that sink in.

Every other team that has been this dominant has been much much on one side of the ball than the other. This team is not, their D is almost as scary as their O.

The steelers are the 3rd best team right now. They can play with Indy and NE in elite country. The packers cannot. Packers = great story, and a very good team, but not as good as Pittsburgh.

What do you mean it doesn't get easier for Dallas with Adrian coming to town? They don't have to beat Peterson, the have to beat the Vikings who simply are bad... Peterson had over 200 yards and the game still could have gone either way... Dallas put up a lot of points vs a good Patriots defense, so imagine what they are going to do to Minnesota...

The best part of all this is that SSR can't sit here and talk about how the Seahawks don't get any respect...getting bitchslapped by Pittsburgh and then beaten at HOME by the Saints will quell that tirade for a few weeks.

Yes Silencer, you're right. The Seahawks are officially down in the dumps, but hey, it could be worse, we could be.....the Bills.

When you have more injuries and come within a point of knocking off Dallas...instead of getting your asses whipped by Pittsburgh and a winless New Orleans team, then you can talk...what have the Seahawks accomplished in their entire existence?

If I'm correct, didn't the Bills get an ass kicking earlier in the year to Pittsburgh?

Injuries??? Follow this team. No Chuck Darby, no Deion Branch, DJ Hackett, Marcus Tubbs, Mack Strong, would you like me to go on?

Do you see me moaning and groaning about how the Bills don't get respect like you do with the Seahawks?

you call those injuries? Try this:

J.P. Losman, Peerless Price, Paul Posluszny, Ko Simpson, Jason Webster, Coy Wire, Keith Ellison, Jason Whittle, Jim Leonhard, Ashton Youbuty, Ryan Denney, Kevin Harrison, Al Wallace, and let's not forget Kevin Everett.

Eight of those names were starters, and nine of them are on IR...do you really want to compare a guy like Branch who will miss TWO weeks with that?

As for your "injuries", Strong was a blocking back, and no one seemed to miss him when Weaver stepped in Sunday...Branch is due back, so is Hackett...Darby JUST got hurt, and Tubbs never set the world on fire his first two plus years in the league BEFORE microfracture surgery.

I dont think the Packers deserve to be ahead of the Cowboys. Green Bay looked average against Washington on Sunday, and should have lost that game, if not for stupid fumbles by Santana Moss and Clinton Ports. Meanwhile, Dallas gave the Pats a game for 3 1/2 quarters, before New England poured it on, something that wasn't really neccessary, but just makes their stats look gaudier.
