The NCAA screws up again.....

The NCAA has gone after schools with Indian names, made millions of student athletes and now are going after journalists....
Currently, there is a bylaw where journalists covering NCAA Championship games can't recreate a live representation of the game. Thus, blogging is not allowed, according to NCAA rules even though fans could watch any of these games on t.v.
Yet, the unthinkable happened as a journalist from Louisville had his credential revoked because he was blogging during a baseball super-regional at the University of Louisville.

Think about it, in covering an event that was broadcasted on ESPN, a reporter couldn't give live updates that he found timely and pertinent to the story. Plus, the paper the reporter was working for has run blogs during similar games at the 2006 Orange and NCAA Basketball Tournament, so the precedent had been set for this activity to take place without any problems.
Yet, the reporter was kicked out of the game for doing his job, a job that most newspapers across the country now require their reporter to do, contribute to a running blog for the sport or game that they are covering.....
Look at the Dallas Morning News website as you can find a blog on every team the paper covers.......
Thus, put this decision to pull a credential one of the stupidest one's I've seen in a while...... Hey NCAA, do the rest of the sporting world a favor and drop this silly blog rule.... You already make enough money through the t.v. deals and corporate sponsorships out there..... The last thing you need to do is force newspapers out of press boxes because they want to do a job that would actually give you more media attention......
Idiots.....
