The Mitchell Report

The Mitchell Report is a roughly 400 page document, put together by former Senator George Mitchell and his law firm, DLA Piper Rudnick, investigating the use of anabolic steroids and human growth hormone in Major League Baseball.

  • Lenny Dykstra, Mitchell Report, page 149: admitted to Kirk Radomski in Spring Training of 1989 to taking steroids.
  • David Segui, Mitchell Report, page 150: admitted to Radomski to taking steroids during the 1994 season, also received more shipments from Radomski thereafter.
  • Larry Bigbie, Mitchell Report, page 152: purchased PED's from Radomski during the 2004 season. Photocopies of checks written by Bigbie are included in the Mitchell Report's appendix.
  • Brian Roberts, Mitchell Report, page 158: Teammate of Bigbie and Segui. "According to Bigbie ... in 2004 Roberts admitted to him that he had injected himself once or twice with steroids in 2003."
  • Jack Cust, Mitchell Report, page 159: Cust and Bigbie, while teammates in 2003 in the minor leagues, had a discussion about their use of steroids during which Cust offered his assistance to Bigbie in obtaining steroids, but Bigbie said "he already had a friend who could supply him."
  • Tim Laker, Mitchell Report, page 159: Required to be interviewed by Mitchell as a current club employee, Laker admitted to receiving several shipments of steroids from Radomski from 1995-1999.
  • Josias Manzanillo, Mitchell Report, page 161: According to Radomski, he injected Manzanillo with steroids in the New York Mets clubhouse in 1994.
  • Todd Hundley, Mitchell Report, page 163: Radomski said he sold Hundley steroids starting in 1996, telling Hundley that if he used them he could hit 40 home runs a year. In 1996, Hundley hit 41 and reportedly took Radomski out to dinner after the season.
