The Greatest Shooter in NBA History
I'm up late on Saturday, watching a show called "Hardwood Classics" on NBA TV. Great stuff, replays of all the old, great classic NBA and ABA games. This one was Game Six of the ABA Finals in 1976 between the New York Nets and Denver Nuggets, which turned out to be the last game in ABA History. (Nets won, overcame a 19 point deficit at the beginning of the fourth quarter, but that maybe another story.) An infomercial comes up, selling a DVD set on offensive techniques, specifically shooting. The infomercial proclaims guaranteed results, as referenced by instruction given by the "greatest shooter in basketball history." Who is this greatest shooter?
Pete Maravich? Nope. The Big O? Uh, uh. Larry? West? Havlicek? Nope, nope, and nope. How about, ready for this......J.J. Redick. Seriously. And all this for $44.95.
I'm just sorry I didn't get the phone number.......then I could sue 'em for fraud.
