The Great Giam-bino Likes "Speed"

The New York Daily News reports that Jason Giambi failed an amphetamines test last year. According to the newspaper, Giambi is subject to increased testing because of the positive result. In a USA Today interview last week, Giambi said that he's "probably tested more than anybody else." Giambi declined to comment when asked specifically about the failed amphetamines test Tuesday.

Outside of Barry Bonds, who else is abusing drugs? I bet we can come up with a pretty comprehensive list.

Rickey? No way. Rickey's a freak. Read his weird habits and stuff and there's no way he'd ever use anything.

OMG Giambi is on drugs again? He is horrible a cheater, a liar a fake. Crucify him, throw him under the bus. Who else on the Yankees is on Crank? I cant believe Selig lets this guy stay in the League, he sets a horrible example. Im shocked and hurt,he is a horrible teammate...

Oh wait thats what we would be saying had this been Bonds, but yet its okay because Giami is "nice" and he grants intereviews.

Makes me sick.

You'd be suprised how far being nice goes...

Bonds happens to be a jerk, so of course we hate him...Giambi, even for all his misques, mistakes, stupid things he's done, etc...is at the very least, nice...

I'm not positive Williams would fail an amphetamines test. You guys realize, pot and things like speed, crank, etc are different right...ricky strikes me as the kind of guy who wants to...relax...as it were

To be correct Pot and speed are exact opposites of each other a upper and a downer. Williams is looking for peace and calm not more energy to get him for a game he doesnt even want to play.

Who said it's OK? The only reason Giambi catches a break is because he admitted taking steriods, whereas Bonds lied. If Bonds told the truth, he wouldn't catch half the crap he takes.

Kels you cant possibly say that with a straight face. Bonds was hated before any of the steroid things came about, there is nothing he could have done to avoid the rath of the media

Oh, I'm serious. Bonds is no different than Palmeiro or Sosa or Bill Clinton or the guys over at Enron or the ex-governor of Connecticut...if you tell the truth people are much more likely to cut you a break. Granted, Bonds is an asshole in the first degree and deserves everything he gets on that subject, but if he was truthful on the steriods issue I don't think he'd be as crucified as he is.

Barry Bond isn't nearly as bad as the late Ken Lay...please don't even compare... But yeah Kelsdad and BigPpup, there reason bonds gets it more than giambi has a lot more to him being a total douche (especially in the court of public opinion...err media)...Maybe he would get a little slack for admiting it...but what about a guy like sheff who never admitted it per se (Cream and the clear?? yeah right....just as bad as flaxseed oil...or tejada and the b12 shot)

If you listen to SNY's Mets broadcasts, you would believe (as I do) that Keith Hernandez is still on drugs.

Keith seems to just be a little drunk. I wouldn't be surprised if he is still pretending like its 1986.

If Giambi is suspended because he admitted taking steroids then how can the Mitchell investigators expect to get any answers to their questions when players know they will be suspended if they admit using steroids. Can't blame players for not talking. Selig may have made a huge mistake if he tries to make Giambi an example of what happens to players who tell the truth. If Bonds wanted to tell the truth he would tell Greg Anderson his trainer to talk instead of staying in prison so Bonds can be free to chase the Hank Aaron record. Anderson may be a rich man some day if Bonds can figure out how to reward him for his loyalty without being caught for bribery.

Agreed...but here's the deal...can the MLB really punish anyone for taking steroids pre-2004...there weren't any rules against it...
