The Good..
Thanks to Auburn, it may be me. I am 4-1 this week against the spread and that will take me to 11-9 overall this year. Here are my 5 best games that I picked this week...
1. [[Auburn]] @ Florida (-18 1/2)
2. Alabama @ [[Florida St]] (-3 1/2)
3. Clemson (-3) @ [[Georgia Tech]]
4. [[West Virginia]] (-7) @ South Florida
5. [[Cal]] @ Oregon (-5)
Also pretty good:
- Washington QB - Jack Locker
- Auburn's Defense & Quintin Grooves (I hope he ends up in Cinci)
- Kentucky QB - Andre' Woodson
The Bad...
What is going on with the "so-called" class of the Big East? West Virginia has not looked good except against Maryland. Rutgers loses to Maryland. Lousiville has 2 losses. These were supposed to be the teams that gave the conference credibility and made them equals with the other BCS conferences. Well, something happened in the world of college football and how we assess teams on paper instead of what they actually do on the field. South Florida has been lights out and has shown the world who is the team to beat in the Big East. Now, that Auburn win and man handling of WV proves that they are for real and deserve to be a top 10 team.
Also pretty bad:
- The "class" of the Big 12 is just as bad. Texas and Nebraska have not looked like anything special all year. I was going to put that Kansas St./Texas game in my top 5 picks. But, the Oklahoma game is just a shock.
- Anyone who wrote off Florida St.
The Fugly...
I think this is pretty easy. Even with all the upsets today you have to just laugh at Nortre Dame. They are going to literally not win a game until November (11/17 against Duke) after 10 straight losses. This team can't beat Navy and Air Force...might not beat Stanford. That leaves one winnable game.Charlie Weis is a great coordinator but that doesn't make you a great head coach. Go ahead and make a profile on careerbuilder or monster...save Notre Dame the trouble and just quit. Thank God though that some other coach decided to put their team in the "Golden Domes" and play halfway decent in them (Washington Throwback unis today).
