Polls, Polls, Polls…Let’s face it, for the next five months we’re all going to be getting a healthy dose of these things. I figure we need our pre-season of polls to help our brain to get better equipped for the sure corruption it’s going to receive…This is very comparable to the early 90’s commercials where some Einstein figured it would be cool to make breakfast in front of our eyes and compare that to our brains on drugs as trying to get the word out about how harmful taking drugs can be. Great Idea…We can see that campaign was very successful. That commercial just made me hungry, but then again don’t drugs have that effect on people. Oops, must’ve forget to take that into consideration.
Well, here I am typing away in front of this screen trying to get myself in the correct frame of mind for college football season. One thing that is definitely missing is another freaking poll. Let’s see, we have polls for virtually now every aspect of college football…From the tailgating, to partying, to best & worst games as well as best & worst stadiums (including the facilities, can’t forget those),best & worst ticket prices, best sports movies…I think you get the point. One thing that’s missing, a poll for the best fight songs. You know the ones we crank up while tailgating in the parking lot , but are to busy doing other shit during halftime to see them perform…Likely with having something to do with us visiting those VIP facilities, or the outhouses, (whatever the case may be). Band members bust their ass too, this is why I decided to show them some respect by polling the best fight songs. Although from my seat in the LastRow it’s difficult to hear the 300-pound tuba player blowing wind on the 40 yardline…Can you play any louder buddy? I know you got more wind than that. Perhaps I just need a new bell tone? Creating this poll was serious burdensome work…I just hope I don’t suffer from poll exhaustion?
I know polls usually have a ranking of 20 instead of 15, but hey, this is my Sports ScuttleButt…You don’t like it, get your own. I don’t see anybody else showing love to marching bands. I’m sure I left out a few favorites, that’s where you come in…Remember, I’m trying to get our brains in the proper condition here. So without further ado let the debate commence!
