The End of an Era?

The Steelers loss did not just create a lot of pain for the Seahawks fans, but has brought on, possibly, the end of an era.
Today it is being reported out of Kirkland that fullback Mack Strong is done for the season after a hit where a disk pinched his spinal cord. It will not require surgery, but it is being reported that his season and his career are over.
Strong was a massive force in a run game that led Shaun Alexander into the record books in 2005, and was always seen as the epitome of a run blocking fullback. He has blocked for three separate 1,000 yard backs in Chris Warren, Ricky Watters and Alexander. He was finally selected to the Pro Bowl in his 13 th Season (2005) and returned in 2006.
I personally hope that this is just being over blown and he returns next season but if his career is in fact over, Seahawks fans will look back at his career and know that he gave his all on every down. He was, however, very emotional at the Monday press conference and he all but said he was retiring.
"There is a lot more to life then football. I have a wife and two kids, and there is nothing more important then them...To me it's a no-brainer. I have given every ounce I had to football...I have no regrets." - Mack Strong
