Nemanja Vidić kicked off the day with a class header from a Nani corner in the 84th minute to lead Man United past Everton, 1-0.

Liverpool were unable to score at Pompey, but thanks to a penalty save by Pepe Reina, they head back to Anfield with a scoreless draw.

In the North London Derby, Gareth Bale put Tottenham up early with a nasty free kick from outside of the box, only to have Cesc Fabregas bring the Gunners back by setting up an Adebayor header and then having one hell of a cracker himself.  Not to be undone, Adebayor finished off the Spurs with a class strike from the top of the box.

Olivier Kapo's cheeky finish from a Sebastian Larrson cross gave Birmingham City it's second win of the season over a Bolton side who could be in search of a new manager as early as tomorrow.

Sunderland also got their second win of the season thanks to goals by Kenwyne Jones and Ross Wallace. Though Dave Kitson took one back for Reading with five minutes to go, the Royals were unable to equalize. No luck finding the other goals.

West Ham annihilated Middlesborough 3-0 at Upton Park with goals from Lee Bowyer, Dean Ashton, and an own goal on 'Boro's Luke Young. No luck on these either.

Clint Dempsey scored his third goal of the season and put the Cottagers up early at the JJB. Unfortunately, they couldn't hold on as Wigan equalized in the 79th minute on a Jason Koumas penalty.

Finally, Blackburn got a little help from the line judge to hold on at Stamford Bridge for a 0-0 draw. Late in the match, Shevchenko nearly killed Samba when he accidentally kicked the defender in the head.

He was certainly offside at Stamford Bridge. The special one hates to admit it when the line judge is right.

I don't know. If one of them was offside on the first pass, I can't really tell, but I don't think Kalou was ever in front of the ball.

I just looked at it again and Kalou does appear to be 1/2 a yard offside. It was a tight call, but there was no hesitation from the linesman...on a different day the call would have been in Chelsea's favour...maybr if it was against Liverpool.

I just had a look at it again and it still looks to me tlike Kalou was a 1/2 a yard offside...on a different day the call might have gone in Chelsea's favour...like if the were playing Liverpool.

Eh, tight call no matter what and I'm not really complaining, Chelsea had no right to win it anyhow.
