The Drought is Over: Anibal Sanchez Tosses a No-No

12
Vote

Florida Marlins pitcher Anibal Sanchez magically danced through the Arizona Diamondbacks roster tonight, tossing MLB's first no hitter in over two years. The Marlins, with the win, are 2.5 games behind the San Diego Padres in the wild card standings. (The Padres are knotted at 0 with the Rockies at the time of this writing.)

Sanchez was acquired during the off-season from the Boston Red Sox in the Josh Beckett trade.

its funny, because randy johnson, the last pitcher to toss a no-no, had a no hitter in the seventh inning, but blew it.

And its only fare that we get no hit after getting the last no hitter. But we still have the perfect.

It's the fourth no-hitter in the Marlins' relatively brief existence. Making it even more mind-boggling that the Mets have never had one.

Yea Randy blew his last no hitter opportunity and eventually gave up a bunch of runs. But ya gotta love any guy who can hold it together like that for 9 innings.

No comments about Hanley taking his sweet time on the throw to first that the runner almost beat?
