The Cleveland Indians Would Like to Apologize

20
Vote

by Woodsmeister

On behalf of the Cleveland Indians, I would like to apologize to ESPN, Fox, TBS, America and baseball fans everywhere for denying them the opportunity to see the the Yankees play the Red Sox for the American League pennant.

We are truly sorry that we had to be the team the Yankees were playing when they decided to beat themselves.

We apologize for your inconvenience, and hope that you have had a pleasant day.

The New York Yankees accept acknowledgement from the Boston Red Sox for giving them an easier path to the World Series.

I don't know about that. If I am the Red Sox I rather face Wang, Petite, Hughes and Mussina rather than Sabathia, Carmona and Byrd.

And the Indians are shittin' their shorts because they have to face Beckett, Schilling and Dice-K. And not to mention having a closer with an ERA below 5. Cleveland might win a game.

I was rooting for Cleveland, not because it was logical, but because I hate New York. But from a strictly logical standpoint, both teams are too good to be hoping to play one or the other. Cleveland will be a challenge for the Red Sox, and vice versa.

"Cleveland might win a game..."

If Cleveland beat New York and Cleveland might only win one game vs the Sox, how many would New York have one?

The only thing better than not having the Yankees in the ALCS would have been if the Angels had won their series.
Who cares about seeing the Yankees & Red Sox, year after effing year?

The TV networks carrying the game care about seeing Boston and/or New York.

If the Indians want to be recognized as a championship contender, then go beat the f**ken Red Sox. That's it. Then Cleveland can shut up Boston up once and for all.

The teams who really need to apologize are the Diamonbacks and the Rockies. Who cares about that series? Honestly?

There are plenty of people who care about that series. The two hottest teams in the National League made it to play each other. It's going to be a lot better series then the Red Sox and Indians.

I don't think it'll be better than the ALCS, but I do like this series and it will be really good... nobody could have predicted this at the beginning of the season...

Look, the Yankees didn't earn their trip to the ALCS, the Indians did. Simple as that. As much as I hate to have witnessed Cleveland win this series (I'm sure someone I used to know from there is one happy camper right now... congrats Larysa), at least they did. What else can I say? Credit is due here. At the same time, just because it's not New York vs. Boston again doesn't mean nobody will watch. Bottom line is that if you're a real baseball fan, you'll appreciate whomever is playing in the ALCS, NLCS or World Series. The largest number of bandwagoners happens to be on the Boston side, but that goes without saying. LOL.

MLB's main offices should be in uproar! Without the Yankees for everyone outside of teh NYC area to boo at, who is going to really watch the next two series? The national broadcast numbers for a Colorado vs. Cleveland World Series will be so much lower, and Selig will lose more money.

I feel no need to apologize to the baseball world. Cleveland is back in the playoffs after 6 years! Let us hope that with the way our team has been playing down the stretch and against the Yankees, that we will end our 59 year title drought.

For your info, Carmona beat Beckett this year, and Bird beat Dice K, and Shilling ain't what he was, and the Indians offense is far greater now than they ever were all year with some addition players. The Idea that Boston is such a favorite boggles my mind. Cleveland beat the #1 offense, now their gonna beat the so called #1 Defense....Cy Young.....Sabathia! Way more innings pitched than anyone else. Go Tribe!
