There are many etiquettes that are followed in sports. One of the most important etiquettes is that players should show proper respect to their opponents.
The purpose of the rule is to not motivate the other team especially a team that has accomplished a lot in recent years like the Pistons.
The Chicago Bulls decided to be cute and proclaim their confidence about how they are ready to end the Detroit Pistons season.
They showed tremendous amount of disrespect towards them last week.
They are getting what they deserve after the first two games.
The Pistons clearly heard what the Bulls were saying.
The way they have played in the first two games of this series, they are so motivated to shut the Bulls up.
Last night was another dominating performance by the Pistons.
This was basically a carbon copy of Game 1.
Do not let the final score fool you because the Bulls were nowhere close to Detroit for the first three quarters.
Chicago made a run in the fourth quarter, but Detroit was on cruise control from there.
The Pistons were never threatened at all in that quarter.
The only time Chicago made a threat was in the first quarter. Pistons went on a 8-0 run to start the game, but the Bulls answered with a 8-7 run.
Does that mean the Bulls would walk the walk after talking the talk?
Not exactly.
The Pistons went on a 14-5 run to take a 22-12 lead.
At the end of the first quarter, it was 34-18 and that's all she wrote.
The Bulls never muster a challenge after that.
It has become quite clear now that the Bulls are just not ready to dethrone the Pistons.
The Pistons are more polished and experienced. Their guards are so much better than the Bulls guards, who has showed that they got lot to learn about playing postseason basketball.
Do the Bulls even have a big man?
There is no comparison about who has the better bench.
Detroit's bench have been so good that their starters have been laughing hilariously in the bench during most of the second half.
Detroit has been able to get past through Chicago's overrated defense.
One has to wonder what Chicago was thinking.
It is understandable for them to be excited for what they accomplished in getting to the second round.
It is acceptable to feel good about their chances, but to go disrespect Detroit like that when they have not beaten them when it counts was very immature on their part.
It is bad enough to talk trash, but it is even worse if a team can not back it up.
When the Pistons are focused, there is no one who can beat them. It is quite clear the Bulls got Detroit's attention.
There is nothing Chicago can do to change this at least for this year.
Their players may play better with the home crowd supporting them, but even then, that will not deter the Pistons, who's goal is to sweep the Bulls.
This will be a short series indeed.
Pistons in 4.
