The Best Personality in Football

The best personality in the NFL is a much closer race than the best personality in Baseball, Manny Ramirez (see my "Best Personality in Baseball" article from yesterday). There are a lot more guys with good (and bad) personalities. So, I have decided to come up with the top three, instead of picking the best one.

3. Hines Ward - Don't think I am just putting Ward on here because I am a Steelers fan, this guy works extremely hard, and is ALWAYS smiling. He can get hit by the biggest, and strongest defender in the NFL, and he will always get right back up with a smile on his face from ear to ear. Ward doesn't trash talk, like Johnson and Owens, and he has plenty of fun out there on the field. Ward doesn't complain when he doesn't get the ball, instead he just goes out their and does his job blocking, or anything else Pittsburgh asks him to do. Ward has a great personality.

2. Peyton Manning - Just about everyone who I have talked to about Manning, has said bad things about Manning, for example, they call him a whiner, or a baby, but I don't see them studying hours and hours of game film, and going out there every Sunday and leading the Indianapolis Colts to win after win. All while being in 57945265 television commercials. Many people don't know how much time, and patience it takes to make one little 30 second commercial. He is great with kids (it appears), and he can crack jokes, but then can get the job done every Sunday without getting injured. I would say that if you can do all that while joking around, and having fun, then you must have a damn good personality.

1. Brett Favre- This future Hall of Famer has the best job in the world, and he knows it. Favre works hard, and has a hell of alot of fun while doing (pretty much like the rest of the NFL players). If you haven't seen this guy play football, then you don't really know what kind of personality he's got. Favre entertains in a very good way, much better than all of those brats at WR who whine, and complain about not getting enough balls thrown to him. No doubt about it, Favre has the best personality in the NFL.

Others considered- Michael Strahan, Steve Smith (CAR), John Lynch, Chad Johnson, Maurice Jones-Drew, Reggie Bush, Tony Romo, Tom Brady

Coming Soon- NBA version

Yes, LT is a whiner. So is Peyton Manning. So's Tom Brady, but I like him anyway. Probably the best guy there is Brett Favre (and I'm a Vikings fan).

Minnesota's Adrian Peterson seemed like a really great guy during the interview I saw of him on Countdown.

There is very few of the actually great players that don't have a great personality in the NFL.Sure yeah you will have some aka the younger Randy Moss,T.O. and the younger Keyshaun Johnson, but i think that the majority of the talented/future hall of famers all have a great love for the game and great personality to go along with it.Love your list Farve would defintly be number 1.

I think Brett has the overall best peronality in the league. I mean really there are litterally dozens of guys who are "nice guys" in the NFL. Plenty of them do community service and yadda yada yadda. However, there are only a few who are good people but actually have interesting personalities. Brett Favre is at the top of that list. Peyton is on that list. Brady... not so much.

If Ward makes the List, I'll throw out Maroney. I've seen the guy in person a couple of times (never spoken to him, but just by virtue of going through U of MN campus, I've seen him), and he's always happy. This is the guy who would rather watch cartoons than football. He's supposedly a hilarious guy. Or maybe I just have a man crush on Maroney...

If Joey Porter ever met you in a casino, he will let you know exactly how disappointed he is for not cutting the grade on this list.

But maybe he'll cut me some slack since I am a Steelers fan, and I cheered for him during his years in Pittsburgh (he never should have left), but then again, he may not.

I miss Bill Parcells post-game press conferences. Nothing more hilarious than watching Parcells endure being asked perceived dumb questions with an expression of complete disgust.

It's hard to know what to like best about Hines Ward. The way he is held in esteem by his peers as one of the NFL's best cheap shot artists, or the way he likes to show up the other team and its fans. He's such a classy player.

http://sport...7/poll.1017/ Every time somebody here idolizes Hines Ward, I shall point out that his peers think he is one of the dirtiest players in the league.
