The Bears Are The Best Team In The NFC

After watching the Chicago Bears beat the death out of the Seattle Seahawks 37-6 tonight, I've come to the conclusion that the Bears are the best squad in the NFC. They seemed to put it all together tonight, as Rex Grossman threw for 232 yards and two touchdowns, and the running game finally got going with more than 140 yards. This was a huge statement made by one 3-0 team against another.
For the eighth consecutive home regular season game, the Bears gave up fewer than 10 points. That's an incredible streak, but what is more impressive is the fact that the Seahawks are one of the better offensive teams in the NFL. I know that not having Shaun Alexander in the lineup didn't help, but as John Madden said late in the game, "Alexander wouldn't have made a difference tonight."
The Bears are now 4-0, and their next four games are against the Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, and Miami Dolphins. This team could realistically be 8-0 going into a showdown with the New York Giants. With the defensive clicking and the offense finally finding an identity, the Bears are the team to beat in the NFC.
