The Arizona Diamondbacks are the 2007 National League West CHAMPIONS!!!!!

With the San Diego Padres loss today to the Milwaukee Brewers the Arizona Diamondbacks have clinched the National League West and the best record in the National League. A team that most thought would finish 3rd or at best 2nd in the division they have over come the odds makers and have pulled off what was to most unthinkable.

While the D-Backs have not always been the best team in the National League or even in their own division they have always been consistent finishing with an above .500 record in every month. The Snakes have overcome a lot of adversity by not faltering when the club lost Randy Johnson, Chad Tracy and the O-Dawg, all to season ending injures. One of the youngest clubs, (thats factoring in the Big Unit, Bob Wickman and Jeff Cirillo) that hoped they could rely on these young players, has seen those players under preform. They have been out scored on the season but they always found their ways to win.

Knowing what I have just told you the point could be made that this team has been lucky and if you are one to make that point then you might be right but I prefer to think that this team wins because they are special, because they are supposed to win, (I apologize now to Manny and user:Kelsdad and to all the other 'Zonies who have heard this slogan and don't like it but I think it is very appropriate) they win because they follow their mooto of "Anybody Anytime".

Now you might say I am just a homer and you would be right and you might say that I'm to close to this team and again you are probable right but I don't care because this October I will see the team with the best record in their league, the team that owns the 2007 National League West title,

THE ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS

Definitely an impressive season from the Snakes. Nobody (including me, a vague fan by default) expected them to compete this year. Good on'em.

Who would've ever thought that the a team with more runs allowed than runs scored would win a division (besides the NL Central)? This is definitely a team with a lot of potential, and is probably going to be the underdog in the playoffs. Congrats DBAX. You definitely earned it.

I can give a few reasons why they have allowed more runs than they have scored. First of all, they have 32 1-run wins out of 51, most in the majors. Also, that's a lot of one-run games. I remember that the D-backs have been in A LOT of blowouts; I live in Arizona and watch many of their games. So with those 2 points, it would seem to make sense they have given up more runs than scored yet they have been winning those down to the wire games they need to win. It's just sometimes they get blownout, like a lot of the times.

Ya I know I remember most of them. 14-0 to Atlanta and so on and so-forth including tonight where they lost 11-1

When the wheels fall off in the postseason, how many will jump off the bandwagon known as the Diamondbacks fans? They simply don't have enough starting pitching to carry them too far.
