My Beloved Pats are making me proud once again to be a New England Patriots Fan. First, they put a 2 first round pick tender on Cornerback Asante Samuel. Great move here. We get our best CB to come back, unless someone is willing to give us two first rounders!!!!! Seriously, if anyone here knows an NFL GM that can get 2 First Rounders to send our way for Sammuel, please tell them to get working. I love this move because no matter what happens, the Patriots still win.
Next, the Patriots go out and spend some money on Linebacker Adalius Thomas, who should be more than capable of replacing Tully Banta-Cain next season. I don't know a lot about him, but if he is good enough to start for the Ravens, he's good enough to start for the Patriots.
The Patriots make a small bit of noise signing a runningback in Sammy Morris, and a TE in Kyle Brady. I like these signing for the sake of depth on the roster, and for the price tag they carry. Both of these are good players who I expect to help bring this team to Glendale.
Then, the Patriots send a Second and Seventh Round pick to Miami for WR Wes Welker. This is a good move by the Patriots, as he seems like he can step in and fill the role of likely to retire Troy Brown. This also strengthens the WR Corps that now has 4 decent WR's in Jabar Gaffney, Reche Caldwell, Wes Welker, and Chad Jackson, who is likey to return from a Knee injury last year. They saw the player they want, and went out and got him.
Finally, in what is the biggest move so far, espn.com reports that the Patriots are interested in trading for Randy Moss. One word describes this, and that is Wow. There was speculation for the exact same thing the day of the trade deadline; but as it turns out, nothing happened. Moss is the most gifted Wide Reciever ever. No question. He would be shattering records left and right if it weren't for whenever he isn't happy or something goes wrong, he acts out.
If Randy Moss can still succeed in the NFL, it will be on the Patriots. He likes to act out in public. The patriots can take care of this, there are so many leaders that will be all over him as soon as he does it. His work ethic is poor. If the patriots are good at one thing, it's making their players work. They make that fifth string QB play as hard as any Starter, and will make Moss do the same. He bashes teammates. Who can he bash? No one. He can't criticize Tom Brady in the same way he can't criticize Brett Favre, they give everything every game. The Oline? They have a pretty solid oline, and even when they don't it isn't a problem. The Coaches? That sure went well for TO in Dallas now diddn't it.
Please, please let #84 don that Red and Navy Uniform with that Silver helmet in New England this fall.
