The Conference Headlines:
Ex-Terp Lonny Baxter arrested near White House:"Secret Service finds gun, shell casings in vehicle after report of shots fired."
Baxter was taken into custody around 2:30 a.m. after a witness flagged down a Secret Service officer and reported shots fired from a white sport-utility vehicle, said Secret Service spokesman Eric Zahren. Officers stopped the vehicle, which Baxter was driving, near the intersection of 17th and I streets in Northwest Washington."There were spent shell casings in plain view inside the vehicle," Zahren said. Officers also recovered a handgun.

Omar Kelly's Hurricanes Blog brings you the scoop on the "Fall's Best Battles": "How long will Tavares Gooden remain Miami's starting strongside linebacker? http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_college_hurricanes/2006/08/best_battles.html
StateFansNation brings bad news about the continuing struggles of former wideout and recovering alcoholic Koren Robinson. A good kid with a vicious, vicious disease. We wish you well, Koren. Oh, and as is the case with most State supporters who are hit with bad news at home, they balence their misfortune with a piece about a troubled TarHeel (in this case, Kevin Donnalley who jerked a kid up in practice and got fired. He had a little trouble with the "roids" last year, as well.) Can't you guys just take your bad news like men without jumping up and down about TarHole bias every...single...time. Either way, we love the blog and the work is fantastic. http://www.statefansnation.com/index.php/archives/2006/08/16/korens-problems-arent-alone/
As always, the folks over at GTSports are bringing the pain with a basketball nugget, featuring an article where the coach clams that super recruit, Thad Young, is definately staying for more than one season. History is not on your side, coach. http://gtsports.blogspot.com/2006/08/hoops-good-article.html
Micky Plylers Clemson Blog brings you Defensive Battles and much, much more. http://tigernet.com/blogs/page/plyler?entry=leggett_s_contract_baseball_stadium
From the TarHeelMarch, "Wherein Excitement Is Found for Sep. 2nd." Good link to a story by Stewart Mandel. Exceptional as always. http://thmarch.blogspot.com/
