Big Lonny gets two months in the slammer for bustin' caps near the White House. Another recipient of the Basketblog's Fred G. Sanford award for stupidity. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/23/AR2006082301118.html">bustin' caps near the White House
Dascenzo: Season to start off with bang :"College football openers often excite me, but none more this season than Notre Dame's visit to Georgia Tech a week from Saturday." http://www.heraldsun.com/sports/18-763726.html
Getting things started this am with the Great Omar Kelly's Hurricanes Blog - What Did U Miss? "My first REAL look at the Hurricanes since the spring game didn't leave me...". http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_college_hurricanes/2006/08/what_did_u_miss.html
The fantastic State Fans Nation says that "Tarheels Love Talking about the Pack." It appears that UNC receiver Jesse Holley made some less than civil comments about the Pack,s schedule the last few years as compared to Carolina's. He said, comparatively speaking, it was a weak schedule . That's very true. He said NCSU played two handicapped schools. That's not nice. What he didn't say is that Bunting is 3-2 vs. Amato. That is also true. The story remains the same: NC State folks duck the COMPLETE truth about Amato and their football program, and Carolina football folks use the tough schedule and success against NC State to prop Bunting up. Both positions are an embarrassment, both schools need to play more reasonable schedules, and BOTH schools need to get off their collective, underachieving fannies and put a product on the field that is better than 5-6 or 6-5. At the end of the day, it comes down to "scoreboard." Bunting is 3-2 against Amato with a better two year conference record and Amato has been to 5 bowl games and won 4. Those are the bottom line facts. http://www.statefansnation.com/index.php/archives/2006/08/23/tarheels-love-talking-about-the-pack/
