The 2007 NFL Draft -- by the numbers

With the draft only four days away, it's time to take a deep breath and kick back with some interesting numbers and stats. Enjoy:

1 -- the number of Chicago Cubs who may get drafted. (Notre Dame wide receiver Jeff Samardzija opted for baseball rather than football.)

3 -- the consecutive seasons during which Baylor punter Daniel Sepulveda has averaged more than 46 yards per punt. Only one other punter -- Brandon Fields -- has averaged at least 46 yards per punt once over the past three seasons. (What? Punters can't get props?)

4.64 -- the 40-yard dash time of defensive end Gaines Adams, faster than any other defensive end in the draft. Also, faster than Penn State running back Tony Hunt who ran a 4.68 40 yard dash.

19 – the age of Amobi Okoye

21 – Calvin Johnson, enough said

46.7 -- the percentage of Adrian Peterson's total rushing yards which came during the 2004 season when he ran for 1925 yards. Since, he has totaled 2120 yards over 18 games.

69 -- the number of touchdowns quarterback Brady Quinn has thrown over the past two seasons.

294 -- the average number of passing yards per season by Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn.

391.25 -- the number of throws Houston senior Kevin Kolb has averaged over the past four seasons of his college career.

4466 – the number of yards Sidney Rice was on pace for, had he played four seasons. That's 563 yards more than Calvin Johnson was on pace to earn.

If you enjoyed these numbers, feel free to submit your own and check out the original source at The NFL Minute for a couple bonuses.

If you're using that number to demonstrate that A-Pete is going to be a bust, then bravo! I agree.

I agree, but not with your reflexive boring nicknaming conventions.
