Last night the Philadelphia Phillies took on the Washington Nationals. Early on you could tell this was going to be a pitching duel. Then in the 8th the phills were down 2-1 When newcomer Russell Branyan came up to bat as a pinch hitter. And at his first phillies at bat(the count was 1-0) he drilled one for a 2 run home run to take the lead 3-2. Then in the 9th Myers did what he does best and thats strikeout 3 consecutive batters to end the game.

I'm telling you, I think the Phillies are the NL team most likely to make a big surge down the stretch.

When the Phils were behind 2-0 late in the game, I was thinking that this game was the beginning of the end of the 2007 season. Surprisngly, the Phils came back and won. They need to sweep the Nats or Pirates, and lose only 1 against the other.
