Born on February 9, 1916 in Buda, Texas, Tex Hughson (Cecil Carlton Hughson) played for the Boston Red Sox for his entire 8 year career. Hughson broke into the bigs on April 16, 1941 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 4.13 ERA in 61 innings pitched in 1941, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Tex Hughson's best season was 1946, when he posted a 2.75 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 172 batters.
