Tex Hamer (Ernest Alexander Hamer) was born on October 4, 1901 in Junction, Texas. After going to high school at San Antonio (TX) Military Academy, Hamer attended the University of Pennsylvania. Hamer made his professional debut in the NFL in 1924 with the Frankford Yellow Jackets. He played for the Frankford Yellow Jackets for his entire 4 year career.
