Born on March 19, 1887 in Henryville, Tennessee, Tex Covington (William Wilkes Covington) played for the Detroit Tigers for his entire 2 year career. Covington broke into the bigs on April 25, 1911 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 4.09 ERA in 83.2 innings pitched in 1911, his rookie year.
