Terry Schmidt (Terry Richard Schmidt) was born on May 28, 1952 in Columbus, Indiana. After going to high school at North (Columbus, IN), Schmidt attended Ball State University. Schmidt made his professional debut in the NFL in 1974 with the New Orleans Saints. He played for the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that 1979 was Terry Schmidt's best year, as he picked off 6 passes and ran back an interception for a touchdown.
