Terrmel Sledge

Terrmel Sledge (Terrmel Sledge) was born on March 18, 1977 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He made his Major League debut on April 6, 2004 for the Montreal Expos. In 2004, his rookie year, he hit .269 with 15 home runs and 62 RBI. Sledge played for the Montreal Expos, Washington Nationals and San Diego Padres over the course of his 3 year career.

- Sledge hit the first ever Washington Nationals home run. He hit it on April 5, 2005 Philadelphia Phillies' starter Jon Lieber.
- His first name (Terrmel) is a combination of Terrence and Melvin, two names his parents had considered naming him when he was born.
- He is half African American and half Korean; his father is African American and his mother is Korean.
