Born on August 7, 1899 in Bedford, Virginia, Ted Wingfield (Frederick Davis Wingfield) played for the Washington Senators and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 5 year career. Wingfield broke into the bigs on September 23, 1923 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 3.96 ERA in 254.1 innings pitched in 1925, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ted Wingfield's best season was 1925, when he posted a 3.96 ERA and won 12 games.
