Born on November 13, 1915 in Fulton, New York, Ted Wilks (Theodore Wilks) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 10 year career. Wilks broke into the bigs on April 25, 1944 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 2.64 ERA in 207.2 innings pitched in 1944, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ted Wilks's best season was 1944, when he posted a 2.64 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 70 batters.
