Born on December 31, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan, Ted Gray (Ted Glenn Gray) played for the Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 9 year career. Gray broke into the bigs on May 15, 1946 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 4.22 ERA in 85.1 innings pitched in 1948, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ted Gray's best season was 1952, when he posted a 4.14 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 138 batters.
