Born on January 10, 1935 in Vernon, British Columbia (Canada), Ted Bowsfield (Edward Oliver Bowsfield) played for the Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Angels and Kansas City Athletics over the course of his 7 year career. Bowsfield broke into the bigs on July 20, 1958 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 3.84 ERA in 65.2 innings pitched in 1958, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Ted Bowsfield's best season was 1961, when he posted a 3.73 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 88 batters.
