Teams of the future.NFL

1.Saints. If you couldnt tell from last season then this season should be all the proof you need the Saints are going to be contenders in an ever growing competitive NFC (stats would show the NFC hasnt been very good in recent years). With alot of momentum from last years run to the playoffs before losing to the Bears. They could easily go 13-3 in 2007 and even make a super bowl apperence within 5 years.

2.Cardinals. The Cardinals have a good quarterback in Matt Leinart a great runningback in Edgerrin James who with the help of Levi Brown on the O-Line who help average an extra 3 yards per carry for Tony Hunt when he played will give James that 1000 yard season they need to be sucsesfull and look for Leinart and Larry Fitzgerald to have hook up and when teams double up on Larry look out for Anquan Boldin to get the ball. They will be a powerhouse soon and might go 8-8 or 9-7 this year.

3.49ers. With Alex Smith at QB and offensive weapons like Darrell Jackson and Arnaz Battle look for an awsome passing game. Not to mention runningbacks like Frank Gore who could have another awsome season. Maybe 8-8 this year. With alot of young players they have plenty of time to make a good team.

4.Dolphins. There offense isnt to great but I think Trent Green can have a marginly sucsesfull first year. Most of  this teams power will come from defense with players like DE  Jason Taylor linebacker Joey Porter and Zack Thomas make this team a very potent D especially against the run. I think they need to get some more offensive weapons but they could go 6-10 again or 7-9.

5.Vikings. Tavaris Jackson will need to step up big time and Chester Taylor will have to get the ball 20 plus times a game. Troy Wlliamson will also need quite a few passes to him a game. There oither team that will lay heavily on there defense to suceed two players that must stand out are DE Kenechi Udeze and SS Darren Sharper. They could go 7-9 maybe 8-8.

So what do you think. These teams in my mind are teams of the future.

So why are the saints a team of the future?

"The Saints have a good quarterback in Matt Leinart " - they do?

"With Alex Smith at QB and offensive weapons like Darrell Jackson and Arnaz Battle " - Arnaz Battle...really?

You realize Trent Green is something like 37...team of the future?

and you mentioned the vikings as a team of the future...but not adrian peterson their RB of the future (or should i say, offense of the future?)

We're both of the same breed, PSU (both from PA)...but please try to put some more thought and/or work into your articles...

Go Cardinals! Neil Rackers is one the top kickers as well.

One would think that a team with Leinart, Fitz, Boldin and James wouldn't need a good kick to "rack" (heh) up points...

That PSU education making these predictions? Or a recently smoked crack rock? The Cards are the Cardinals. The NFC West is the NFC West. End of Sentence.

All those guys you mentioned on the Dolphins D are older; if they had drafted Brady Quinn they may earn a spot on this list.

Cardinals a powerhouse? Last time I checked, you need more than a highly touted rookie on the o-line to be successful. And Edge is old.

The Saints are the present, not the future. To me, the NFC isn't competitive until they beat the AFC at least once in the Super Bowl.

This article was a good idea, just put some more time and though into it, like JuT said.

PSU - you are fearing the Saints way too much. They played WELL over their heads last year. They are likely a 1 year wonder. You will see.

And they've been called the 'aints for a very long time...plus i even disected the team a little...linebackers were weak (who was thinking matt McCoy was good?!)...certainly the line did not perform and/or have the right players... The super power offense of the saints didn't win by being a super offense...they won by running the ball...

Tavaris Jackson youre seriously willing to bet the future of a team on that?

Drew Brees is no spring chicken, especially after a shoulder surgery.

The 9'ers might be able to pull it off.

What will carry the Dolphins to greatness?

That's why Brees is so amazing. He led the league in passing yards with a new shoulder, basically. On a rather hilarious note, if you go to nfl.com and click on stats, you get the stats for the 2007 preseason and Brian St. Pierre is leading the league in passing.

Of course, he had to try and plug Tony Hunt...AGAIN. He mentioned him in the same sentence that had Brian Westbrook as the most versatile RB in the league.

Now, let's decapitate this article, and the author:

New Orleans: Yes, they have a good offense. However, Terrance Copper (23 grabs, 385 yards, 3 TDs) and Mr. Drop Devery Henderson (32 catches, 745 yards, 5 TDs) are not a prototypical #2 WR to play on the opposite side of Marques Colston. The defense is weak in spots. Mark Simoneau is slated currently to start at MLB. Hollis Thomas and Bryan Young are the DTs. They don't strike fear in people. If Mike McKenzie or Jason David go down, there is a lack of decent depth at corner. Saints will win maybe 11 games, but will not go to the Super Bowl.

Arizona: Levi Brown will help the line, yes. However, right now he is #2 on the depth chart at LT behind Wells. Factor in Elton Brown is the slated starter at RG, who didn't even play in a game last year, and Mike Gandy is the RT, and it makes for another sucky year on the line. Edge averaged 3.4 ypc last season and his long run for the YEAR was 18 yards. Chike Okeafor does not scare anyone at DE, and Bertrand Berry has to come back from injury and prove he is worth the big dollars he got before last season. Cards will go 7-9 at best.

49ers: Ever heard of Vernon Davis? Darrell Jackson has yet to recover from the turf toe injury that slowed him in Seattle. He has a history of developing nagging injuries. They don't even have a C on the depth chart. If Gore gets hurt, it takes you down to Maurice Hicks. Want to try and get to the playoffs on his legs? Defensively, Bryant Young is 35, and no one cares about Ronald Fields, Marques Douglas or Melvin Oliver on the D line. Teams ran on SF for a reason: the front seven is weak. They didn't improve it. They get to .500, maybe.

Miami: You must have smoked half of Colombia's output to classify Miami as a team of the future. Trent Green moves like an 80 year old with arthritis, Chris Chambers is the only WR they have. Randy McMichael left via FA, stripping them of another weapon. They are looking at starting a rookie C, and their #3 and #4 WRs on the chart are Az Hakim and Ted Ginn, who they reached for at 9th overall in the draft. The defense is flat out old. Miami goes 5-11, 6-10 tops.

Minnesota: Troy Williamson? Was one of the league leaders in drops last year. Tarvaris Jackson? 475 yards, 2 TD, 4 INT in his work last season. When Bobby Wade and Billy McMullen are battling for a starting WR slot, you are not a team of the future. Defensively, they can stop the run, but teams can throw on them. Cedric Griffin is far from a decent corner, Sharper has lost a step, and Dwight Smith is still counting his money from the Super Bowl with Tampa Bay. Chad Greenway, a guy with NO career tackles, is slated as the front runner at ROLB. This team wins six games, and that is it.

How about the Washington Redskins??? They Have a great young quarterback who showed real confidence last year and they will have the best safety tandum (Landry, Taylor)in league history in about two years.
